MET 2012: THE LOOKS

As you may know, the Costume Institute Gala at New York's MET was held this week.

This year the work of Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli was the spotlight for an exhibition focusing on their careers.

Lots of celebrities of the fashion world gathered together.

Maybe my expectations were too high but the truth is that after seeing the photos of the looks that walked down the red carpet I got a bit sick.

For me only these 3 looks are all right:

Como seguramente sabréis, esta semana se ha celebrado la gala MET 2012, considerada los Oscar de la moda, en el Metropolitan Museum de Nueva York.

Este año se ridió homenaje a las diseñadoras italianas Miuccia Prada y Elsa Schiaparelli por toda su trayectoria profesional.

Allí se reunieron todas las celebrities y personajes del mundo de la moda.

No sé si es que quizás tenía puestas muchas expectativas en los looks que iban a desfilar por la alfombra roja, pero la verdad es que me he llevado una gran decepción tras ver las fotos de la fiesta.

Únicamente salvo estos 3 looks:

COLORFUL NAILS

This season colorful nails are in fashion more than ever. We can choose those bright and traditional colours such as the classical passion red or those pastel shades such as pink, blue, green, yellow. The truth is that there is a large colour palette available.

Esta temporada estamos viendo más que nunca que se llevan las uñas pintadas, tanto de colores llamativos y clásicos como el rojo pasión, como tonos pastel (rosa, azul, verde, amarillo). La verdad es que disponemos de una amplia paleta de colores para poder elegir.

But if you cannot decide for just one colour, then you have the possibility to paint each nail of a different colour. Do you dare to do it?

Pero si no puedes decidirte por un único color, entonces puedes pintarte cada uña de un color diferente. ¿Te atreves con esta tendencia?

MINT ALSO IN SHOES

We could say that mint, aquamarine and turquoise shades are the star colours of this season. We can see lots of garments in these shades in all the shops around the world.

The truth is that I really like these shades. Also, I think that they're very becoming and flattering especially for summer when our skin is tanned by the sun, don't you think so?

But if on the contrary you don't really like these shades or you see that they don't suit you, then another option is wear these colours in shoes, for example. As you can see in the following picture, there are plenty of shoes (sneakers, sandals, wedges, etc.) to choose.


Podríamos decir que los tonos mint, aguamarina y turquesa son los colores protagonistas de esta temporada. Este año es fácil encontrar muchísimas prendas en estos tonos en cualquier tienda.

La verdad es que a mí me encantan estos tonos. Además, pienso que son muy favorecedores, sobre todo, en verano cuando nuestra piel está bronceada por el sol, ¿no creéis?

Pero, si por el contrario, no sois mucho de estos colores o no os veis muy favorecidas con ellos pero os gusta ir a la moda, otra opción es utilizar estos tonos en los complementos o accesorios que formen vuestro look. Por ejemplo, podéis utilizar los tonos mint, aguamarina y/o turquesa en los pies. Como podéis ver en la foto que os muestro a continuación, hay infinidad de modelos de zapatos (zapatillas, zapatos, sandalias, cuñas, chanclas, etc.) en este rango de tonos.

I think that this is a good way to avoid giving up something that actually we like but that we consider it doesn't suit us.

A mí me parece que ésta es una buena manera de no renunciar a algo que nos gusta, pero que consideramos que no nos sienta del todo bien.

KERATIN FROM AZALEA

Some days ago I attended the presentation of the new keratin treatment thanks to Azalea Cosmetics.  

For those who don't know Azalea, I'll tell you that it belongs to Salerm Cosmetics, who I'm pretty sure you will know due to their products for professionals hairstyling.

About the keratin, just for your information, it's extracted from the wool sheep because this hair is very similar to ours.

The keratin is useful to bring shine, flexibility and body to the hair. It's not useful to smooth it down.

Hace algunos días asistí a la presentación del nuevo tratamiento triple activo queratina de la mano de Azalea Cosmetics.

Para aquéllos que no conozcáis Azalea, os diré que pertenece al grupo Salerm Cosmetics que seguro que los conocéis por sus productos para profesionales de la peluquería.

Azalea, sin embargo, se encarga de los productos para clientes no profesionales. Son ellos quienes están detrás de los tintes de pelo que podemos encontrar en los supermercados Mercadona bajo su marca de cosmética Deliplus.

Sobre la queratina, a modo de información, deciros que se extrae de la lana de las ovejas puesto que este pelo es el más parecido al nuestro.

La queratina sirve para aportar brillo, flexibilidad y cuerpo al cabello. No sirve para alisarlo.

The keratin treatment from Azalea is applied easily because it's a mousse so it's very easy to distribute it through the hair. As you'll see in the following pics, the keratin has to be applied on the washed hair or wet hair after drying it with a towel or it's also possible to apply it over dry hair. Afterwards a heat source (hairdryer or hair straightening iron) must be applied to make sure that the keratin penetrates the hair.


El tratamiento de queratina de Azalea se aplica fácilmente porque es en espuma, lo cual se distribuye mejor por todo el cabello sin ensuciar. Como veréis en las fotos siguientes, se debe aplicar sobre el cabello lavado o húmedo después de secarlo con una toalla o, incluso, seco. Basta con muy poquita cantidad para esparcirla por todo el cabello. A continuación se debe pasar una fuente de calor, ya sea el secador o la plancha, para hacer que la queratina penetre en el cabello.

I've been using the product for approx. 3 weeks and the truth is that I've seen results since the first application. I notice my hair smoother, silky and manageable. Also, the scent of the product is very pleasant and it remains in the hair during the whole day.

Llevo utilizando el producto desde hace unas 3 semanas y la verdad es que he notado resultados desde la primera aplicación. Noto mi cabello mucho más suave, más sedoso y más manejable. Además, el producto tiene un aroma muy agradable que se queda en el cabello todo el día.

BOYFRIEND JEANS

Boyfriend jeans are trendy more than ever. I still don't have my pair because I think they won't fit me fine. However after seeing these looks I shall go and try them because I really like them!!

Los pantalones boyfriend se llevan desde hace tiempo, pero ahora parece que están pegando fuerte. Yo aún no tengo los míos porque creo que no me quedarían bien, aunque cada vez me entran más ganas de probarme unos y salir de dudas...
