BEAUTY TREND: WHITE NAILS

Although I have a particular fondness for red nails and almost always I paint them in that shade, this summer I'm going to opt for wihte. Yes, white nails are the new trend and I really like it.

Aunque yo tengo predilección por las uñas rojas y casi siempre las llevo pintadas de este tono, este verano voy a apostar por el blanco. Sí, sí, el color blanco en las uñas se lleva y a mí me encanta.

I think this colour makes the nails look very delicate and elegant. Besides, in summer, when the skin is tanned, the white will stand out even more, which in turn will make a better appearance, don't you think so?

Me parece que quedan muy finas y elegantes. Y en verano, cuando estemos algo más bronceadas, el blanco resaltará aún más y quedará mejor, ¿no creéis?

As Julie, from Sincerely Jules, has that amazing colour of skin and those pretty nails (long and delicate), the white sees really awesome on her (love, love, love).

NAIL TRENDS SPRING 2013 (II)

Last week I talked to you about the nail trends for spring 2013 according to some beuty brands such as Bobbi Brown, Lancôme, Esteé Lauder, etc. To see the post click here.  

 

But there are some other beauty brands that have launched new collections with regard to nail polishes for the next season.

Today I'd like to post about the new nail shades for spring 2013.

Bobbi Brown stands out the classic red, which is one of my favourite shades, and pink to bring joy to the outfits. Price: 13,80 Eur

BIO SCULPTURE GEL

Some days ago I had the opportunity to try, thanks to Dermofarmacia Alomar, a revolutionary nail polish that takes good care of the nails and lasts 2-3 weeks long. 

It's about the Bio Sculpture Gel, a 100% natural treatment based on a formula free of chemical products. It looks after the nails, embellishes, strengthens, nourishes them and protects them from external aggressions. 

The treatment is made up of natural ingredients such as lavender oil, eucalyptus, vitamin E, camomile or citric essences, etc.

As in a conventional manicure, first of all you the nails are filed and sharped as you want.

Hace unos días tuve la oportunidad de probar, gracias a Dermofarmacia Alomar, un esmalte revolucionario que mantiene las uñas pintadas sin estropearse durante 2-3 semanas.

Se trata del Bio Sculpture Gel, un tratamiento 100% natural basado en una fórmula totalmente libre de productos químicos, por lo que no daña la uña, sino que la embellece, la endurece, la nutre y la protege de agresiones externas.

Los ingredientes que componen este tratamiento son naturales, tales como el aceite de lavanda, el eucalipto, la vitamina E, la manzanilla o extractos cítricos, etc. 

Como en una manicura convencional, primero te liman la uña según la medida y forma que queramos.

Then the nails are polished with the gel.

A continuación te pintan la uña con el gel. 

To dry up the nails, it's necessary to introduce them in an ultra violet ray lamp for a few minutes. 

Para que las uñas se sequen bien, hay que introducir la mano en una lámpara de rayos ultra violeta durante unos pocos minutos. 

After that the nails are painted with colour. In my case I chose red as I really like it.   

Después te pintan las uñas del color elegido. En mi caso fue el clásico rojo que tanto me gusta.

Finally, they apply an oil to take good care of the cuticles. Also, they massage the hands with moisturizing cream for a perfect touch. 

Por último, tan sólo le pasan un aceite para cuidar las cutículas y te masajean las manos con crema hidratante para un perfecto acabado. 

In my case the nail polished lasted 3 weeks long. Actually when I removed the polish it was in a perfect condition but I decided to remove it because the new growth nail was not painted so I didn't like it. But an option would be to paint the new growth nail with the same colour as the polish chosen for the manicure and then applying a layer of shine polish to fix the colour. 

To remove the polish, just wrap the nails in acetone soak cotton... et voilà. The polish disappears easily without damaging the nail. 

I'm really happy with this treatment because the nails remain with a very nice shine and very beautiful. Also, for me it's wonderful that the polish lasts so long.

En mi caso, el esmalte me ha durado 3 semanas. En realidad, cuando me lo retiré estaba perfecto, lo único que me lo quise retirar porque la uña ya me había crecido bastante y no me gustaba que se viera tanta uña sin pintar. Pero os podéis pintar la uña que nace del mismo color que el que habéis elegido para haceros la manicura y luego pasar una capa de brillo por toda la uña.

Para retirar el esmalte, basta con envolver la uña en un algodón empapado de acetona... et voilà. El esmalte sale solo y sin dañar la uña.  

A mí es un método que me ha convencido totalmente porque veréis que las uñas quedan súper brillantes y bonitas. Además, que el color dure tanto tiempo y en verano para mí es una verdadera gozada.

DIOR CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF VARNISH

Dior celebrates the 50th anniversary of their first varnish collection.

The star colours are the Royalty Red and Montaigne Gray, shades that inspire the femminity, glamour and sophistication of the Dior woman.

In 1962, Christian Dior was the first haute couture brand to launch a varnish collection under his own name. Afterwards Dior created a wide palette of colors, from coral, brown and transparent shades to blues and greens.

 

Dior celebra el 50 aniversario de su primera colección de esmaltes de uñas.

Los colores estrella son el Rojo Royalty -999- y el Gris Montaigne -707-, dos colores que marcan la feminidad, el glamour y la sofisticación de la mujer de Christian Dior.


En 1962, Christian Dior fue la primera casa de Alta Costura en lanzar una colección de esmaltes de uñas bajo su propio nombre. Más adelante Dior creó una colección entera con colores como el coral, marrones y transparentes hasta azules y verdes.

COLORFUL NAILS

This season colorful nails are in fashion more than ever. We can choose those bright and traditional colours such as the classical passion red or those pastel shades such as pink, blue, green, yellow. The truth is that there is a large colour palette available.

Esta temporada estamos viendo más que nunca que se llevan las uñas pintadas, tanto de colores llamativos y clásicos como el rojo pasión, como tonos pastel (rosa, azul, verde, amarillo). La verdad es que disponemos de una amplia paleta de colores para poder elegir.

But if you cannot decide for just one colour, then you have the possibility to paint each nail of a different colour. Do you dare to do it?

Pero si no puedes decidirte por un único color, entonces puedes pintarte cada uña de un color diferente. ¿Te atreves con esta tendencia?
