MY VISIT TO KIEHL'S

Last week, thanks to Patricia, I attended a bloggers meeting that Kiehl's organised to let us know the brand, the products and the store in Argentaria, 6 in Barcelona.

La semana pasada, gracias a Patricia, asistí a un encuentro que Kiehl's había organizado para darnos a conocer a algunas bloggers su firma, sus productos y su tienda de la calle Argenteria, 6 de Barcelona.

The welcome couldn't be better since a choir was prepared to delight us with their awesome voices and to wish us a Merry Christmas.

El recibimiento no pudo ser mejor porque allí nos estaban esperando las chicas del coro dispuestas a deleitarnos con sus magníficas voces y a felictarnos las Navidades cantando.

After this original welcome, we visited the store and the Kiehl's staff told us about the origins of the brand. Kiehl's was born as a drugstore in New York in 1851. His founder, John Kiehl, created a business thanks to his cosmetics, pharmaceutical, botanical and medicinal knowledge. The business grew up and passed from generation to generation. The internationalisation of the brand began in 2000 remaining faithful to their quality and service premises.

Tras este recibiento tan original, nos enseñaron la tienda y nos explicaron los orígines de la firma. Kiehl's nació como farmacia en Nueva York en 1851. Su fundador, John Kiehl, creó un negocio asociando sus conocimientos cosméticos, farmacéuticos, botánicos y medicinales. El negocio fue creciendo y pasando de generación en generación hasta que en 2000 se inicia la internacionalización de la firma siendo siempre fiel a sus premisas de calidad y servicio.

One of the icons of the brand is the Harley Davidson motorcycle and every shop has one.

Uno de los iconos de la firma y que no puede faltar en ninguna tienda Kiehl's es una Harley Davidson.

Another icon of the brand is the bone skeleton. When the first Kiehl's drugstore was opened there was a bone skeleton in the shop. The clients used to point out in the bone skeleton the part of the body thas was hurting.

Otro de los iconos de la firma es el esqueleto porque, cuando se abrió la primera farmacia Kiehl's, había uno en la tienda y los clientes señalaban en el esqueleto la parte del cuerpo que les dolía.

Kiehl's can study your skin for free to assess you with the most appropriate products for your tipe of skin. I asked them to study my skin to know the suitable treatment to care for my skin.

En Kiehl's, si lo deseas, te pueden realizar un estudio de la piel gratuitamente para luego asesorarte con los productos adecuados para tu tipo de piel. Yo aproveché para que me lo realizaran y así conocer el tratamiento que mejor me funcionaría para cuidar mi piel.

First they place a sticker on the front, chin and cheeks to control the oily and dryness levels of each part of your face.

Primero te colocan una pegatina en la frente, barbilla y mejillas para controlar el nivel de grasa o de sequedad que tiene cada una de las partes de la cara. 

Then we compare if the stickers have the same shade to see if there are areas in the face with a higher level of oily or if the levels are uniform.

Después comparamos si las pegatinas tienen el mismo tono y así podemos ver si hay zonas de la cara que son más grasas o si los niveles son uniformes. 

And, lastly, they elaborate for you the perfect treatment to care for your skin.

Y, por último, elaboran el tratamiento que sería ideal para tu tipo de piel con los productos de la firma.

So I'll tell you after I try some products.

Así que ya os contaré qué tal porque tengo pendiente probar varias cosas.

I recommend you visit Kiehl's because they have high quality products with reasonable prices. Besides, the products are parabens-free.

Os recomiendo visitar la tienda Kiehl's que tengáis más cercana porque son productos de alta cosmética a precios asequibles. Además, los productos no contienen parabenes.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

On such special days like these is when I like evaluating the year. I like looking back and analyse my successes, my failures and remember also the good and bad moments of the year.

Evaluating the year I reach the conclusion that 2011 has been a great year to me. I have learned lots of lessons and I have realised that Fashion Victims Bcn is a very important part in my life. So I would like to thank you for each visit and each comment since this is the strength that I need to keep on with this project.

Shortly a new year will arrive and now I find myself absorbed thinking deeply about new resolutions and new challenges.

En estas fechas tan señaladas es cuando me gusta hacer un balance del año. Echar la vista atrás y analizar mis éxitos, mis fracasos y recordar tanto los buenos como los malos momentos del año.

Haciendo balance, llego a la conclusión de que 2011 ha sido un gran año, un año en el que he aprendido muchas lecciones y en el que me he dado cuenta de que Fashion Victims BCN es una parte muy importante de mi vida. Por ello quería agradeceros todo vuestro apoyo, puesto que cada visita y cada comentario es la fuerza que me impulsa a continuar adelante con este proyecto.

Estamos a escasos días del próximo año y yo ya me encuentro inmersa cavilando en mis nuevos objetivos y retos.

And so, absorbed in my reflections, I can only wish you...

Y así, entre reflexión y reflexión, tan sólo me queda desearos...

LA GALA DEL PRODUCTO DEL AÑO

Last week I attended the Gala de El Producto del Año 2012 (Gala of the Year Product 2012), which was held in the Auditori of Barcelona.

A total of 41 products achieved the award to best innovative product in its category thanks to the votes of 10.000 surveyed subjects.  

La semana pasada acudí a la Gala de El Producto del Año 2012 en el Auditori de Barcelona.

Un total de 41 productos consiguieron el premio al mejor producto en su categoría por su carácter innovador, gracias a los votos de 10.000 personas encuestadas.

In the category of beauty, one of the products that won the award was Uniq One (The Colomer Group), the mask that I talked to you about some days ago. Click here for more info.

En la categoría de belleza, uno de los productos que ganó el premio fue Uniq One (The Colomer Group), la mascarilla de la que os hablé hace unos días. Clica aquí para más info.

Another product that won the award was Elvive Hidra Colágeno (L'Oréal Paris), the shampoo for Mediterranean hair. I have tried it and, although I notice a straighter hair, I still need to use the hair irons to achieve a perfect straight hair. Maybe the shampoo works better using the conditioner and the hair mask of the same range...

Otro de los productos que se llevó el galardón fue Elvive Hidra Colágeno (L'Oréal Paris), el champú para los cabellos mediterráneos. Lo he probado y, aunque noto un pelo más liso, aún tengo que utilizar las planchas para conseguir un liso perfecto. Quizá el champú funciona mejor utilizando el condicionar y la mascarilla de la misma gama...

The other products that won the award in the beauty category are La Toja Nutri Spa (Schwarzkopf & Henkel), Olay Total Effects crema de día (Procter & Gamble), Ceras fijadoras Nelly (Belloch Lab), Código juventud suero extraordinario (L'Oréal Paris), Loción piernas cansadas de Natural Honey (The Colomer Group), Coloración capilar sublime mousse (L'Oréal Paris) and Maquillaje serum alisante con 4 extractos de rosa (Yves Rocher). I haven't tried any of them so I still don't have an opinion.

Los otros productos que obtuvieron el galardón en la categoría de belleza son La Toja Nutri Spa (Schwarzkopf & Henkel), Olay Total Effects crema de día (Procter & Gamble), Ceras fijadoras Nelly (Laboratorios Belloch), Código juventud suero extraordinario (L'Oréal Paris), Loción piernas cansadas de Natural Honey (The Colomer Group), Coloración capilar sublime mousse (L'Oréal Paris) y Maquillaje serum alisante con 4 extractos de rosa (Yves Rocher). No he probado ninguno de ellos, así que aún no tengo una opinión.

The gala was actually an enjoyable event and I could learn about new interesting products and meet new people. It's worth mentioning the effort made by the people from marketing and I+D departments of the companies looking for new products and thinking of new formulas to meet our needs. I just can say that I'm looking forward to attending the next one!!

La verdad es que la gala fue un evento muy agradable. Además, pude conocer nuevos productos y gente intesante. Cabe mencionar el esfuerzo que hace la gente de marketing y de I+D de las compañías siempre en la búsqueda de nuevos productos y pensando en nuevas fórmulas para satisfacer nuestras necesidades. Así que sólo puedo decir que estoy deseando ir a la próxima.
